The Sled Hockey Foundation (SHF) held its third Just Try It event of this winter season at Canalside on Sunday, February 17th and it was another huge success!
Nearly 30 people got in a sled and gave sled hockey a try. People young and old loved it and promised to look for more SHF Just Try It events. Some of the participants were families with children with disabilities coming for a second and third time on the ice.
“The Sled Hockey Foundation’s goal is to grow awareness of adaptive sports and increase the availability of these opportunities to people with mobility disabilities,” stated Steve Wischmann, the SHF’s Executive Director. He added, “Seeing families here for a second or third time is a great sign that we’re achieving our goals.”
The SHF thanks everyone at Canalside for their tremendous support and assistance in conducting these Just Try It sled hockey events.
