Adam Page helping guide Just Try It participants as they learn the basics of sled hockey
The turnout was tremendous at yet another sled hockey event at Cornerstone Arena in Lockport! The Sled Hockey Foundation (SHF) conducted another two-hour Just Try It event on Sunday, May 20th and again enjoyed having Adam Page, a three-time Paralympic Gold Medalist in sled hockey with the U.S. Men’s National Team, present on the ice to skate with over 25 participants.
“We love seeing this kind of turnout here – this shows us that we will be successful building a sled hockey program in Lockport,” said Norm Page, the President of the SHF’s board of directors. He added, “We have great partners in Cornerstone Arena and generous support from the Grigg Lewis Foundation, and all of our donors.”
The SHF will conduct a Just Try It event at 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 17th. These events are free and aimed at introducing this great sport to the public.
The SHF always welcomes donations from the community as those generous investments allow the foundation to do its work to provide recreational opportunities for mobility disabled children, adults, and injured military veterans.
