The Sled Hockey Foundation (SHF) conducted its last Canalside Just Try It event for the winter season on Sunday, March 4th – and what a great day it was!
With the sun shining, temperatures in the low 30s, and lots of people out to savor downtown Buffalo and Canalside, over 50 people enjoyed getting in a sled hockey sled and moving the pucks around. Young and old met the challenge of sled hockey and had a great time!
Steve Wischmann, Acting Executive Director of the SHF commented, “What a terrific way to hold our last Canalside event for this season. The weather was perfect, and we saw so many people excited about getting to know this great sport.”
While Adam Page, two-time U.S. Paralympian Gold Medalist in sled hockey, was heading to South Korea for the 2018 Paralympic games – and a run at an unprecedented 3rd consecutive gold medal, his two gold medals from Vancouver and Sochi were on display for this event. People loved stopping by to see and hold these heavy artifacts of athletic supremacy.
The SHF thanks Canalside for their hospitality and professionalism in supporting these Just Try It events.
See you next year at Canalside!
