Greater Buffalo Adaptive Sports Conducts the First Just Try It Event of the Winter Season at Canalside

Saturday, November 23rd was a picture-perfect day to get on the ice as Greater Buffalo Adaptive Sports (GBAS) conducted its first Just Try It sled hockey event of the 2019-2020 winter season at Canalside in Buffalo.  Dozens of people enjoyed the bright, crisp early winter day and gave sled hockey a try, supported by GBAS volunteers who helped get participants geared up and on the ice.

This was so much fun – the conditions were ideal, and everyone had a great time,” said Emily Nuebecker, a nursing student at Niagara University, adding, “I enjoyed helping GBAS provide this opportunity to the community generally, and the disabled community especially. It’s important.”

This was the first of 6 planned Just Try It events at Canalside in the coming months.  These free-to-the-public sled hockey events will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on each of the following scheduled dates:
